Activity #3A - Combining sentences. On a new document, combine the following sentences using any linking adverbial that you think would be appropriate.

(1) Merle took her dog from the neighbor's yard. It was chasing their cat. 
(2) Using the MICUSP is interesting. It takes time to read all the sentences that appear as hits. 
(3) Tom is very thirsty, so he is going to drink water. Tom is drinking coca-cola. 
(4) The band stopped playing loudly. I can now go to sleep. 


 


 
Activity #3B - writing your own sentences based on the concordance lines.

For this activity, you should review the Activity 2 Recording Sheet. Then write your own original sentences, two for each key word or key phrase. These should go on the same document as the sentences for #3A.
